PUPPY CARE 101

When you receive your new baby you are so super excited that you forget to ask questions such as "What do they eat?" and "How often?" and then it hits you..

"You have no previous experience with these kind of babies and you don't have a clue how to care for it.."

So, what now?

Well first, Calm down! lol
I'm here for ya...so please CALL ME!
I'm available for my clients 24 hours a day 7 days a week around the clock.
However, I have Basic Information that may be helpful to you and your new baby as well.

Here we go, First thing is to find the areas where your new baby will eat, sleep, play, go potty, and see a vet (find the nearest vet to your house in case of an Emergency!)

Once you have that down memorize that you have to
"ALWAYS HAVE FOOD AND CLEAN WATER AVAILABLE FOR YOUR NEW BABY...ALWAYS!!"

As far as what type of food to get them is really up to you and your new baby..I'm not going to tell you that YOU MUST go get them the Highest Priced dog food there is on the market today.
You will be okay with just going to your local grocery store and getting some dry kibble that has no red dye in it......(Red Dye will create a brown fungus that is greasy and smells horrible. You can see this build up on the inner corner of your puppy's eye lids.) Purina and Pedigree are good sources for doggie kibble. Now if you want to go buy the ideal dog food then "Science Diet and Eukanuba" will be the better choices some people say Blue Buffalo is the best but I haven't tried it yet so I can't say anything about it.

I want to take a moment right now to talk about HYPOGLYCEMIA in Teacup Yorkies. When you buy a Tiny Yorkie (one that is under 3lbs and who is under 7 months old it is very likely that they may start showing signs of Hypoglycemia or "Low Blood Sugar."

Signs are: Not wanting to eat, laying down- not playing, separating himself from his toys or siblings, whining like in pain, Swaying back and forth like in a trance, lastly falling over or laying really still like in shock. "You must ACT fast!!" get a dab of nutra-cal (pea size) and rub it on the puppy's gums and under its tongue." or if you can't open its mouth and don't have nutra cal get a small syringe or a dropper and mix a bit of karo syrup with a little bit of water and give a small amount of the mixture to your puppy" Keep the puppy warm and keep a close eye on your baby if baby doesn't come to in 10 minutes... Take him to your nearest Vet ASAP!!

Over the years I have heard of simple ways to prevent Low blood sugar in teacups one way is to give them a small glob of peanut Butter. Other ways is to Mix a small amount of Karo Syrup in their Drinking water, you can also add some waffle syrup to chicken baby food.

For Drinking: puppies need Clean water around the clock they will be just fine drinking tap or if you prefer, go get them bottled water that's perfectly fine. Again it's your choice!! I've also mixed pedialite and water for them to replenish electrolytes.

Playing time should be in an area where you can supervise your new baby. Remember to remove any objects that may be dangerous for your baby to be around ie. wire cables, small objects that can be swallowed or toxic chemicals.

Potty Time should be done inside until puppy has gotten his or her first set of shots and second set of shots, Due to the fact th
at they are still susceptible to picking up bacteria from dirt and grass.
Potty P
ads are ideal for this or newspapers with paper towels okay too..be sure to have doggy bags and wipes available too.

Bathing should be done with warm water and oatmeal based soap/Shampoo only.
Drying- Dry puppy's coat thoroughly specially ears and then blow dry in slow mode and brush coat with a human brush with soft plastic bristles with round soft tips.

No clothing is necessary as they have fur but it's optional.
Sleepy time- Puppy should be sleeping in a clean area near your bed or room where you will be able to check on him/her and hear their barking in case they need to be let out to potty.
A radio turned on to low can soothe its anxiety because of the noise place it far enough for him/her to hear the music but far away from reach.

KEEP TRACK OF ALL SCHEDULED VET VISITS!!
